Golden Wonder Crisps
|
Far superior to Walkers crisps....not stocked commonly but found a source on ebay for S&V which are in Blue packets like they should be...Cheese & Onion in Green packets...shit all over Walkers crisps all day long

what was it that led to Golden Wonder's near domination of London to slip so much? You hardly ever saw Walkers years ago.

Complacency, Marketing possibly paying to get retailers like Pubs to stock them?
GW make the majority of store brand crisps I heard, although not as good as their own branded products.

Walkers made Cheese &Onion crisps 8 years before Golden Wonder. Weird how GW are seen as the correct colour.

They are made in Scotland
Walkers picked off some of their best brands as they did with KP.
Somebody has picked up the name but not sure if it's the original company. A bit like with Truman Beer.

Golden Wonder apparently petitioned other crisps makers in the 60s to change their colours to match GW's, rather than Walkers who had got there first, and that why walkers are different colours as they refused to budge.

Unilever bought most uses of the brand name in 1996 (Wiki).
They don't seem to have used it much

Most store brand crisps stick to blue for S&V and green for C&O mostly.
